Melissa Walker,
Specializing in Watercolors, Pastels,
Mixed Media Collage, Altered Art,
and ATC's
I am an artist and art educator. I have over 18
years experience teaching art to elementary, middle, high school and adult
students. I grew up in North Carolina and received my BS degree in Art Education
from East Carolina University and an MA degree in Painting and Printmaking from
the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. In 2001 I was certified by the
National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in Early Childhood and Young
Adult Art Education. I have been making art in one form or another for as long
as I can remember.
Most recently I have been focusing on watercolor
and mixed media collage as well as pastels. I have also begun creating visual
journals, altered books and ATC's. My artwork includes both abstracts and
landscapes, while my visual journals and ATC's combine a variety of collaged
images and words.
